So I won an AFC2 auction and the guy wanted to do a wire transfer to malayasia. So I did, and he said he shipped it out. Then today this emai lfrom ebay:

The following is a notice from eBay Trust & Safety regarding:

Item Number - 7980591486
Item Title - USED APEXi S-AFC II SUPER AIR FLOW CONVERTER

Our records show that you were a bidder on this item. We recently removed this listing and have suspended the seller's trading privileges. Due to privacy concerns we will not be able to share further details related to this seller.

If someone claiming to be the seller asks you to complete a transaction outside of eBay, we strongly recommend that you ignore the request. If you have not sent payment to the seller, we urge you to not proceed with the transaction.

If you have already paid, you may wish to pursue recouping your funds. Some steps you might take include:

1. Ask the seller for a refund
2. If you paid by check, ask your bank to stop payment
3. If you paid by credit card, contact your credit card company's security department
4. If you have made a payment by money order or wire transfer, you may contact that company for further information at 1-800-325-6000 (Western Union), or at 1-800-926-9400 (Money Gram)

Did you check out his feedback? If he had negative, did he respond positively or he "gave an attitude"? That is how I spot bad people on eBay. I have NEVER been screwed on eBay...because of the feedback. Sorry you were had, brother. For the next time, if it's a Western Union or Money Gram transfer outside the U.S., it is a scam. I got scammed for $400 from a guy in Italy for a Novation Supernova II...which sells for over $1,000...in a SonicState.com music instruments classified. He was such a nice guy and we chatted by e-mail for a while until I sent him the trasfer. Never heard from him and 2 days later I read on the SonicState.com classifieds that he was a scammer. I had the chance to get suspicious when he said he needed me to contact MoneyGram and change a letter in his name because they wouldn't give him the money and they were looking at him like he was a criminal. I wish that would've woken up a paranoia in me but it didn't. Oh well! I reported it to the FBI complaint center but I knew they weren't going to do anything.
