is it a good idea to swap my tranny to a mr2-t (since I must change my tranny anyway for a swap) an keeping my 5sfe then saving for a 3rd gen 3sgte? or that tranny are no no with 5sfe? also, if i decide to get a 2rd gen 3s, will the tranny still be compatible?

Yes... but swapping in the tranny is as hard as swapping in the motor... The E153 trans are actually more difficult to swap in than the actual 3SGTE motor because they need somewhat custom mounts and axles regardless of what engine bay you're working with (GT or ST). I'd wait... No point in jumping the gun...
To answer your basic question... they do bolt up... but the input shafts are different so you'll need a different clutch disc... -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
