Im wanting to make my own shortram intake. I would get all the parts from home depot and build it, but I need a list of items to buy. Would anyone with experience tell me when I need to get?

Stock design is a CAI, albeit a cramped one. Going from the stock CAI to an SRI means you're exchanging small amounts of cold air for large amounts of warm air, with no increase in the amount of oxygen actually getting into the engine. The only increase you actually achieve with an SRI is more noise.

To create an SRI out of Home Depot materials, get a 2" diametre 45-degree street elbow (one end male, the other female). Get 6-10 inches of 2" pipe. Get a cone filter. Glue the elbow and the straight pipe together, using the female end of the elbow. Stick the filter on the end of the pipe. Stick the male end of the elbow into the stock rubber sleeve on the intake body. Congratulations, you have increased your car's decible output.
