OK, so I was telling one of my co-workers about how I wanted to get a CF Hood for the weight reduction benefits, not for the look. He suggested that I check into getting a fiberglass hood, instead, since they are much cheaper. So my questions are: Do they even make these for our cars? What's the difference between carbon fiber and fiberglass? Any input would be appreciated.

CF panels are pointless on a road car. They will offer nothing more than a pose factor. You will not notice any performance gain from fitting a lightweight bonnet.
Race cars are different - I'm aiming to get the weight of my Rover down to around 1000kg - couple that with 300+bhp - that will equal 300bhp per ton. Not going to acheive that with steel doors etc. TBH, you'd be much wiser spending the $ on engine mods etc on your everyday car than getting a posers bonnet ![]() Gary -------------------- ![]() 1994 ST205 Celica GT-FOUR Group A WRC - running in new engine 1993 Rover 220 GTi tarmac rally car (under construction) 3SGE power here we come....
