I have a Sony Xplod HU, Pioneer 3-ways in the doors, and stocks in the back. I'm definatly going to replace the rears before I amplify anything. So lets assume I have 4 pioneers 3 ways. Would a 100 watt amp be alright? I don't want/need subs at this time. Just want to ampilfy my speakers.
Thanks, Alex Cutrara -------------------- |

4 channel amps are not 2ohm stable, so..... anyway, your speakers will perform better, sound cleaner/clearer with more power that a HU will not offer... sure HU's can power speakers fine, but speakers sound better when getting the cleaner power an amp offers(if it isnt crap)... but its up to you...

I know someone already said it, but yeah, there are plenty of 4 ch amp that ARE 2 ohm stable so I don't know where you get that from. And yes, you're right about an external amp giving a more powerful, cleaner sound but that power is being wasted if you're just using it for rear fill. Anyway, you also suggested he use the HU amp to power the rear speakers, so I'm not sure why you're contradicting yourself. |
