Thanks to Doug and rjb23 for experimenting with other short shifters (Doug-EVO and rjb23-7th gen). I recieved mine (7th gen about $45 on ebay) and installed. It took about 1.5 hours from start to finish. I downloaded the instructions from TWMs website and read the ones in the how to articles.
I have to say the throw is much much shorter and about 1-2 inches lower than stock. My finger are kinda close to the dash but I think it is because I only used 2 of the 4 spacers (the back 2) plus I have big hands. I will put some pics up when I put the other 2 spacers in. Bottom line, this this rocks - great mod for $45. This post has been edited by Batman722: Mar 29, 2005 - 12:24 AM -------------------- |

QUOTE(Digndoug @ Jul 9, 2005 - 6:08 PM) QUOTE(Valo666 @ Jul 9, 2005 - 1:07 AM) batman..question 4 u...the lil spacer/doughnuts that is included in the 7th gen twm, on the right side under the new lever, what are they for??/do i have to worry about them? You need the spacers to lift the assembly so the shift linakage dosnt bend or hit. I learned this the hard way, by testing and testing. Also i did the evo one which was a bit more work. Also you will need to cut some plastic tabs on the shift linkage to make it shift smother. there are stock spacers in your car now. I took those out and replaced them with the new ones. Those are nessessary. I did cut the plastic piece that Doug is talking about a day later, I felt no difference cut/uncut, there was no rubbing at all - I just wanted to be safe. -------------------- |
