Hi, my name's Andy and I'm a new member. I dont actually own a 6th Gen but was wondering if you guys could answer a question I have? I drive a 4th Gen Celica running a ST202 3S-GE and lots of other 6th gen bits... it wishes it was a 6th gen!
![]() My question is about the JDM ST202's - I'm looking at upgrading my g.box but need some info on them. The 3S-GE half cuts I've seen come in two varieties. One has the regular 5sp g.box, normal suspension and normal single piston brakes. The other type of cut has a bigger g.box (with a black cap on the end), superstrut suspension and twin piston brakes with bigger rotors. Does anyone know what the difference is between the g.boxes? I can get one with driveshafts pretty cheap but I dont know if it'll be worth the bother. Any help would be appreciated! Andy |

Thanks for the reply! Both cuts were definitely 3SGE Gen III's (model prev to the beams). I'm only after the g.box as the one in the car has a worn diff (its from a ST204).
Next time I'm down there I'll take note of the year it was made and the model code of the g.box. I've been told the bigger g.box has double synchros, bigger driveshafts and possibly LSD? This post has been edited by Andy: Jul 14, 2005 - 12:53 AM |
