Anyone have good links to pertinent California Vehicle Law?

I've been going through the online CVC document and found fun stuff like:

You can have any color turn signal lens as long as they flash yellow or white in front and red or white in back and side markers flash yellow.

You have to affix as many plates as were originally issued to your vehicle by the DMV.

Photographers get special license plates.

If you're transporting explosives you can't drive more than 55.

But I I can't find anything on emissions with engine swaps (aside from giving notice of install) or how to find out how many plates were originally issued to your vehicle (I bought mine used and it came with one).

And the front turn signals can't flash white. I talked with CHP, and they said the lenses can be clear, but the flash has to be yellow.
