Anyone have good links to pertinent California Vehicle Law?

I've been going through the online CVC document and found fun stuff like:

You can have any color turn signal lens as long as they flash yellow or white in front and red or white in back and side markers flash yellow.

You have to affix as many plates as were originally issued to your vehicle by the DMV.

Photographers get special license plates.

If you're transporting explosives you can't drive more than 55.

But I I can't find anything on emissions with engine swaps (aside from giving notice of install) or how to find out how many plates were originally issued to your vehicle (I bought mine used and it came with one).

As far as I know a cop has to specify the reason(s) why he pulled you over. This is because of, primarily, the exlusion act, law, whatever.
Example: An old teacher of mine was caught driving drunk. The police officer suspected him of drunk driving, and pulled him over for swerving in the lane and driving too slow. He got out of the ticket because a). Swerving is only considered a sign of a drunk driver if the driver leaves the lane, and b). he was in the far right lane, so driving too slow according to the speed limit is permissible as long as there is given reason (he was behind a truck).
Thus, since the officer pulled him over with the intention of testing him for being drunk, but did not follow proper guidelines (niether a or b are technically reasons allowed under california law to pull over a citizen under suspect for drunk driving), all information pertaining to said case are irrelevant and thrown out of court. Thus, even though he was tested and over the legal limit, because he wasnt pulled over legally those tests are erased.

This is nifty information to know, because if you have a good lawyer, or decent knowledge of the law, you can get out of a lot of tickets that cops asign you after they pull you over. For instance, lights in the window squirters. Unless a cop saw the lights on, he cant give you a ticket after he pulls you over if he simply sees them in the spot.

Also, as far as I know, cops are not allowed to forcibly search your car without a warrant, including trunk or underhood, irregardless of what they say.
