Thanks to Doug and rjb23 for experimenting with other short shifters (Doug-EVO and rjb23-7th gen). I recieved mine (7th gen about $45 on ebay) and installed. It took about 1.5 hours from start to finish. I downloaded the instructions from TWMs website and read the ones in the how to articles.
I have to say the throw is much much shorter and about 1-2 inches lower than stock. My finger are kinda close to the dash but I think it is because I only used 2 of the 4 spacers (the back 2) plus I have big hands. I will put some pics up when I put the other 2 spacers in. Bottom line, this this rocks - great mod for $45. This post has been edited by Batman722: Mar 29, 2005 - 12:24 AM -------------------- |

QUOTE What does that plastic piece do? like what is it for? it is just a part of the assembly, no specific reason why QUOTE Do you have a pic of where those spacers go? no, if you follow the TWM pdf instructions I posted, it is kinda step no. 7. There are 4 bolts that hold the assembly to the car chasis. The bolts are 14mm I think and the spacers are just big washers that go in between the big plastic assembly and the car. After you remove the bolts and put in the new shifter, before you put the 4 bolts back in put the new round purple metal spacers in the place of the smaller rubber ones that are already there (between the assembly and the car chasis) Jaws, don't worry, it is easy. Most people do this in less than an hour. I believe in you, you can do it. -------------------- |
