hey, is this brake light supposed to light up?

only the brake light next to the indicator lights up for me when i have my ehadlights on, and when i brake. could i splice the existing brake light with this light? (theres a bulb in there already., so that they would both light up?

I couldnt splice them so they did that. if I did splice both headlight wire and brake wire, the headlights would turn on if i braked sometimes, and a few other problems. so now when the headlights are on, only the outside one is on, dimly, and then then all 4 light up when brakes are applied. i guess its better than nothing
im guessing the reason for this is your brakelights are two-stage voltage, meaning more voltage are forwarded in the light bulb to make them light up more. you can see this with the bulb they have two inputs and maybe even two filament coils. -R
