I have a queestion to ask for a friend. He has a 5th gen celly. The drivers side boot is torn in two and looks like it might be leaking out the grease, and of course we know it is letting crap in that shouldn't be in there. If today is the first day it started making any noise, and just started acting up on him....how long before it is undrivable, and how much to replace? Would this be the cause of a loud clanking noise in reverse?

Havent gotten it fixed yet (let the flames begin)... it just sounds like dice when i make turns. Im already aware its axle replacing time, but the cost confused.gif ... started with the right side, and eventually went to the left...
