I have a queestion to ask for a friend. He has a 5th gen celly. The drivers side boot is torn in two and looks like it might be leaking out the grease, and of course we know it is letting crap in that shouldn't be in there. If today is the first day it started making any noise, and just started acting up on him....how long before it is undrivable, and how much to replace? Would this be the cause of a loud clanking noise in reverse?

Um, the install should be pretty easy. Take off the wheels, and parts of the suspenension, pull the axles, put new ones in, put back together? It should be pretty similar to the 6th gen I'd think, and with all the times i've had to pull my motor I've gotten pretty good at it
