they are not HID. they are projector lights, there is a difference. . not bein smart, just keepin our boy from gettin mis-informed. HID = a secondary generator type thing that causes a bulb to emit many times the amount of light as a normal bulb, while using as little as a 3rd of the voltage. projector = a concentrated beam of light being emitted by a "ball" of sorts that act as a condenser-esque unit.

as far as "dropping in", the lights do bolt right in place, but as super said, the harness does need to be altered a little. also, there needs to be a 2nd line put in, for the side "accent" light. if you need any more answers, feel free to get in touch w/ me, as i have done the swap over to the JDM projectors on my own car.
