After having my split padded armrest sit in the closet for about 6 months, I finally decided to take it to an upholster to see how much it would cost to fix it up. He's putting the same material on the arm rest and sewing it exactly the same for $30.

ive never had that. i never even knew that was an option. doesnt look too bad imo, a little on the chunky side though?
