As of monday 8-22-05 My car is still stranded. I am only getting spark to one wire(3rd cylinder).
I switched that wire with the other ones to make sure the wires were good, and they are. A new cap and rotor didn't do anything but oddly now only the 4th cylinder gets spark. I tested the coil and I get 0 resistance between the primary coil when I should be getting some. A test to the secondary coil shows the proper reading. Look slike I am going to have to replace the coil. Does anybody know if there compaitable between 94-99? How about 5th gen? I am curious if there the same since its obd vs obd2. QUOTE(madmods @ Aug 19, 2005 - 4:43 PM) I heard from someone that the ECU computer shuts off the fuel pump. Is this true? Should I just disconnect the battery to reset it? Its not a hard thing to try.. ?I would still replace the fuel pump.. cause its prolly has crap in it, if you drove it empty. |

lol this is very funny to watch. so many random ideas like banging on the gas tank and your comment about bad wires reconnecting.. lemme tlak about this real quick we've all disconnected our batteries right? what happends when u reconenct a hot lead with current? IT SPARKS!!!! so your suggesting to spark wires with the key on and then slapping the gas tank to not only stir things up but cause the spark at the same time.. please think before you comment something like that to a fellow member, how would u feel if his car has thousands in damage from this or it even semi blew up and hurt/killed him? just a thought. i hate stupid comments!
i have an alldata subscription to my car ill hunt for a safety kill switch and get back to you. also the ecu i do not think will shut off the pump like that but like said disconnect the batttery and give it a shot.
