I replaced my rear brakes and now my hand brake dosnt work also the rear brake dosnt seem to be working right. I have repolaced rear drums before without a problem but am more faimliar with disc. Do you i have to tighten the one tensioner bolt until the drum and barley fit on or what?

The drums are self-adjusting up top, at the wheel cylinder. The bolt on the bottom has to be manually adjusted, somewhat, as crazycel18 noted. You'll want to drive it a bit and make a series of forward and reverse stops to get them to completely adjust.
The parking brake should also adjust itself if you work it up and down a few times. If it still stays loose, pull the centre console and adjust the brake lever. You'll see two nuts on a single rod at the base of the handle. Hold the bottom nut and loosen the top one. The bottom nut adjusts the position of the handbrake handle, while the top nut locks the adjusting nut into position. You should have 4-7 clicks when applying moderate force to lock the brakes. |
