has anyone done this or tried importing a car with a swapped engine that isn't stock?

i'm wondering because i'd like to import a swapped car (celi w/ 3sgte)... i know we have 2nd gen 3sgte's in canada in other cars (mr2/5gc)... but i have some worries...

i'm just worried it might not even be allowed into the country or pass the federal inspections

i've went to riv.ca to read up on importing cars... but it doesn't really say in detail...

will either customs or the federal inspection places check to make sure the engine matches the vin or wutever?

as long as the numbers in the bay match, that's probably all they'd check for. I doubt most places would know the difference.

Unless there are emissions etc

edit. the numbers in the bay label to the hood label to the door and windshield label. I doubt they'd check for 3sgte/5sfe/7afe etc..
