has anyone done this or tried importing a car with a swapped engine that isn't stock?

i'm wondering because i'd like to import a swapped car (celi w/ 3sgte)... i know we have 2nd gen 3sgte's in canada in other cars (mr2/5gc)... but i have some worries...

i'm just worried it might not even be allowed into the country or pass the federal inspections

i've went to riv.ca to read up on importing cars... but it doesn't really say in detail...

will either customs or the federal inspection places check to make sure the engine matches the vin or wutever?

You're right about the tax, and when bringing one to the US if it's wrecked or doesn't have an engine then it doesn't get considered a motor vehicle, I posted a bunch of importing laws a while back that explain it, but it won't help much in your case since they're for the US.
