has anyone done this or tried importing a car with a swapped engine that isn't stock?

i'm wondering because i'd like to import a swapped car (celi w/ 3sgte)... i know we have 2nd gen 3sgte's in canada in other cars (mr2/5gc)... but i have some worries...

i'm just worried it might not even be allowed into the country or pass the federal inspections

i've went to riv.ca to read up on importing cars... but it doesn't really say in detail...

will either customs or the federal inspection places check to make sure the engine matches the vin or wutever?

they dont really care man. My friend bough 2 S13's from florida, one was bone stock, and the other had a SR20 swapped in it. He didnt pay anything extra, just took about a week longer than the stock one. I still donno how u cant find one up here. There are soooooo many up here. I say just buy one with high km and swap it in ur self. its probably gonna b cheaper than buyin one with a swap. I saw a GTS on autotrader for $2400 CND with 205xxxkm on it. Spend the $2400 or less if u bargin, on the car, then go out and buy a 3S and swap it in for cheaper.
