To all the US GT owners. Do you people ever have to change your drum brakes?

The ST204 parking brake does indeed use a drum-based braking system. Notice how the rear rotor on your guys' GTs is so big in the middle? That's because the inside of it is like a drum. It makes contact with shoes internally when the e-brake is engaged.
I believe I read somewhere that only the dealer carries shoes for the rear e-brake assembly, and they cost around $80. I dunno how correct that is though. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

Are you serious? Damn, that sucks. Cause I really need to change mine. The ebrake doesn't hold anymore. All the parts stores has the GT and ST shoes listed as the same. Thats what they tell me. I guess I'll have to try it anyways and see what happens. It it doesn't work then I'll have to take it to the Toyota dealer. |
