Whats the best bang for your buck, to increase your hp in a 5S-FE motor?(totally stock) How much HP upgrade should i be looking at? (with whatever your suggestion is.) And does putting Super or Premium gass really effect hp enough for it to matter?

first of all. do a search before you post. this has been answered tooooo many times. now to answer your question. the 5sfe is meant to be an economy engine. depends on how much your budget is, you can do a custom CAI (cold air intake), there's a how to here, cheap and good. then there's exhaust. you can either go custom or Factory exhaust from Greddy. SP1 which are really hard to find since it's discontinued and SP2. chanh and some other members have them on. custom would be getting any staight through muffler of your choice and do a straight pipe 2.25" or 2.5". i won't say headers cause there ain't one for our 6gc. but there are headers for the 5sfe and if you wanna get one. you'll have to modify it to fit. if you have alot of money for mods. you can always go for a turbo set up. read up manny's post on his 5sfte project, he's pushing 203hp and 246lbs tq or you could choose to swap in the 3sgte. stock toyota turbo engine pushing around 220hp+.
