Got a question on automatic's OD.
I was messing around and this civic pulls up and starts reving next to on the high way. Knowing that my car can't beat it at the time. I just started out I hit 4th at 80 mph got to 85 and I accidnelty hit the OD button car revs up about 3k RPMs and i get from 87-100 in like 4 seconds and kept climbing. Usually my car maxxes out on 100mph. Anyway, question is how does this point on the lower gears? I know the OD pushes your RPM up for more power on hills and stuff, but how can I use this on the lower gears? Its probably useless for gear 1 and 2 Id assume. |

all the OD button does is activate/disactivate your auto's 4th gear essentially switching your car into a 3speed. it doesnt "allow" your gears to be rev'd higher. your correct that having it off will do nothing for first and second gears.
-------------------- ![]() I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside. |
