The sideskirt group buy is purchasing skirts from a UK supplier which will be picked up in the UK. I have been told that we will be charged a 17.5% VAT tax. I have also been told that this amount is refundable once the skirts leave the country. Apparently there is some VAT form that we need. Can someone let me know how to get this form. Thanks.

Thanks Rich. My understanding is that form 407 must be filled out by the vendor and that only the vendor can get the form. My further understanding is that once the goods leave the EC, the customs agent marks the form and then I can send the marked form to the vendor for the refund. Please confirm that this is your understanding.

Once the goods are leaving the EC Customs stamp the 407 & you send the form back to the vendor. REMEMBER: You can only get your VAT refund if the vendor is part of the VAT back scheme. If he's not, then tough ****e Who's picking them up for you? I ask this as it may get complicated seeing as though you're not there with the goods. But as I said I'll check tomorrow for you. One of Romas' friends is picking up the parts and then they will be shipped out from Lithuania. -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |
