 oil catch can?, someone explain |

I know they go between the valve cover and intake, but what do they do, how do they work, whats the point, and is it a FI or NA only mod???? do they drain in to the oil pan? or do u ahve to take off the can and poor it out?

i replace my line from the valve cover to the throttle body with some red silicone stuff and after 7000 kms i took it off and looking inside and it was still really clean.
