I SPOKE WITH ONE OF THE ENGINEERS AT RIPP MODIFICATIONS HIS NAME WAS RAY. YES IT'S TRUE ABOUT THE SUPERCHARGER BEING DISCONTINUED,BUT ONLY TO A CERTAIN EXTENT. THEY ARE WILLING TO BRING THE PROGRAM BACK TO LIFE IF WE CAN COME TOGETHER AS A GROUP OF 5 ENTHUSIASTS THAT ARE ONLY WILLING TO GAIN POWER THROUGH THE SUPERCHARGER.HE ALSO SAID YOU MUST BE PRICE COMMITTED, KNOWING THAT IN ORDER TO ACHEIVE THIS GOAL IT WOULD COST NEARLY 4,500.00 US AMERICAN DOLLARS ON EACH OF OUR PART. AND OF THAT 4,500.00 G'S YOU WOULD HAVE TO PUT A 1,000 DOLLAR DOWN PAYMENT.SO THIS IS WHAT YOUR LOOKING AT AS A GROUP- 5 INDIVIDUALS WILLING TO SPEND THAT AMOUNT, EACH PERSON PUTTING A 1,000 DOLLAR DOWN PAYMENT AND THEN FOLLOWING THROUGH.5 PEOPLE EQUAL 22,500 DOLLARS 5 PEOPLE TO PLACE A 5,000 DOLLAR DOWN PAYMENT. BEING THE FIRST GROUP TO HAVE A SUPECHARGED WRECKING CREW PRICELESS.NOW IM NOT SAYING THIS IDEA IS THE BEST OR MOST COST EFFECTIVE WAY- WHAT I AM SAYING IS THAT THIS IS THE ROAD LESS TAKEN TO OZ.WE DO KNOW OF THE ENGINE SWAP AND TURBO, ALL IM SAYING IS THAT A SUPERCHARGER STILL EXISTS AS A LIVING AND BREATHING DREAM. IT'S BEEN SLEEPING FOR 2 YEARS FROM BEING DISCONTINUED, ONLY TIME WILL TELL WHEN IT WAKES UP AGAIN.

Since when are 3sgte swaps reliable?

your joking, right? i have NEVER had a single issue with my 3sgte and my car is a daily driver.

what do you think will be more reliable, a factory build turbo motor that was been known to run well over 150,000 miles in many alltracs and mr2s, or brand new kit that is installed onto an economy 5sfe that was never factory designed for boost.

the 3sgte was tested, designed, and tuned for boosting every day by TOYOTA.

the ripp mods kit has a warrenty only on the parts they sold you. ripp will not warrenty your motor if it blows.

Wow, so a lot's changed in a year eh?

Last year everyone's swaps were breaking down left and right all the time, i seem to remember yours being included in that. When I was contemplating my swap, I was taken aside and warned that it would probably mean maintainence etc every other month.

I was just pointing out that RIPP is a reliable company, and their supercharger isn't going to randomly cause your engine to blow up unless you **** with it, while any number of things can and do go wrong in a 3s swap and you know it.

I had very bad luck but have not had a maintenance issue in nearly 6 months after getting the bugs worked out (although i do have a little shifting grimlin that rears its ugly head every few weeks - I think its motor mount wear and have purchased some urethane to correct it).

And, by the way, my comments were given to you in confidence. I am surprised you mentioned it.
