i just replaced my old POS pads with some ceramic ones. i put the little springs back in, but after the 5 minute test drive i just had, i smelled something funny. is this normal for brand new pads, or are the pads still rubbing the rotor when my foot is off the brake? any help would be appreciated as this is the first time i replaced brake pads.

hope you broke in pads. Ceramic pads can't be just used after install. They have to be broken by gaining speed and then almost slaming the breaks, hard enough just before they lock up. Don't lock up and wait about a minute before doing it again. Do this a few times, 7-10 should be good.
