every time i drive on this one road which is very bumpy, i hear this knocking around noise in the back coming from the trunk. It sounds like a block of wood knocking around back there, but i cant find what it would be, anyone else have this problem or know what it is?

QUOTE(FSX_Celica94GT @ Oct 23, 2005 - 1:31 PM) its not the tools, ive already checked that. This was also before i got my new struts in also. Its not metal against metal sound, idk, i might just have to deal w/ it. QUOTE(celicarus @ Oct 23, 2005 - 4:12 PM) just realized that my strut bearing and strut mount might need to be replaced, that could be causing the bumping noise for me if everything is secure in the hatch/trunk area, then most likely it is the rear strut mounts. You can buy new ones from the dealer (don't bother buying crappy aftermarket ones) and replace them. The job isn't too difficult start to finish, you just need the right tools and no fear. Manny and I replaced them on his car. I have the "bumps" back there too and I will probably be doing mine next summer. QUOTE(Snarfer @ Oct 23, 2005 - 3:05 PM) try replacing rear sway bar bushings... i think they're only like 6 bucks from the dealer and really easy to change out. I agree. Those are next on my to do list. ![]() -------------------- |
