Well i have a set of custom mounted 6x9's in my rear deck lid (no biggie) but i have a set of 12's in my room waiting to be put in. My only problem is that im goin to keep the deck lid in so i can keep my speakers. But my flaw is that there won't be any air to cool the amp down (and it needs it (2400 watts)) but i wanted to custom cut out the celica dragon in the deck lid and mount a grill and some neon under it so it will look custom but also serve purpose lol. but i didnt know if ne one has done ne custom cut outs and if so post some pics so i can get an idea of about what im gettin in to.thanks in advance for any interest.

Where is the amp going? If you're worried about airflow you can use a computer fan.
Its possible (probable) that your 6x9s are going to distort once the volume gets turned up if you just have them mounted to the deck lid with subs in the back. The cutout is not necessarily needed, but the idea does sound cool. Shouldnt be too hard, but the deck lid could need bracing if the cutout is big and you want to attach a grill to it. -------------------- ![]() |
