My friends birthday is coming up and i wanted to get her an iPod nano. But i hear these reports of class action lawsuits against Apple about the nanos durabilty, that its scratches very easy, that the screen breaks easily as well, that numerous people have had to send theirs back in for repair or replacement. Does anyone here have a nano and can attest to its durability?? Can you put it in your back pocket and sit down without worry? or throw it in your bag with other stuff without fear of it scratching or breaking? Or should i just get her an iPod mini, which is suppose to be one of the most durable portable electronics around?

To start off I am a proud owner of Ipod Gen3 / Nano & my wife's mini. Well compared to all other Ipod it's about the same but yes the casing is much more weaker then Ipod or Mini. It really has to do with the person who going to carry it around for next year or 2. My Ipod has scratches all over the place that's why they have made a thing called a cover / protector. Nano wise I do think it does have weaker casing & it's way more harder to take care of from comparing it from my Ipod to Nano. And it's not all that great .... To me it just seem like a hype ... Still like my 40GB Ipod better
