Updated Manual Transmission Conversion, Checklist Options

Auto/manual conversion checklist:

Manual tranny
Flywheel and bolts
Clutch kit (and pressure plate bolts)
Driver's side mount for manual
Shifter assembly
Shifter cables
Clutch pedal assembly
Brake pedal (or grind down your stock one)
Clutch master cylinder
Clutch slave cylinder (if not included with tranny)
Clutch lines
Manual ECU or wire in resistor box for the auto ECU



I just wanted to put this down so that I don't have to retype it every time someone asks me how to do it

I found a 5-speed transmission with all the parts needed to do the full swap. It is at a local salvage yard. The guy quoted me $700 for all the parts. This inculdes all the stuff listed at the start of this thread. I told him i was doing a swap, and he sounded kinda upset (like it was alot of work for him to take it out of the totaled car) but he said he has everything, its just gonna take some time to get it all out. Also when i said i was doing a swap the guys said, "so your gonna need the cylinder?" (im assuming hes refering to the clutch cylinder) So i figure this guy has some idea what hes talking about. Cuz i totally for got about that part. lol So yeah.

Should i bring him the list on this forum, so he knows exactly what i need? just to make sure i get what i need?

BTW i have a 1995 GT, and im replacing the Auto tranny with a gt 5-speed, so it should be one of the "easier" tranny swaps (not saying any are easy, but just from the fact its the same motor as what it is suppose to be connected to.)
