I did a quick preliminary with no promising results, so, I'll ask the question myself.

Has anyone on here done a quick-and-dirty fuel tune with a piggyback on a stock (or mostly stock) 5SFE and seen a substantial (3+) increase in gas mileage? One of our local Honda tuners did a fuel tune on a stock Honda Civic and saw a huuuge MPG difference after raising the A/F ratios slightly. Understanding that this was done with more than a piggyback - he used Neptune.

But nevertheless, my question still stands... has someone done this with results?

I think every car has some tunes to do once you set after market parts on it. After my intake, and exaust, I just reset my ECU, I felts a the car run alot smoother and a bit or more acceleration. Never check the MPG tho.

Indeed. My 2000 Celica GT-S had an adaptive ECU that very obviously adjusted according to your driving habits. If I reset the ECU and then drove like a decent human being, I easy saw 420 miles per tank. If I reset the ECU and went out and drove like a ****ing madman, I'd be lucky to pull 380 out of that tank, and then even if I drove nicely after that, I still wouldn't get anymore than about 390.

But, that still doesn't answer my question. What I'm looking for is someone who has done this to a nearly stock 5SFE (I/H/E is okay) and whether they've noted a gas mileage increase. smile.gif
