The motor is running fine. BUT......
It seems that I have baked my transmission. go figure. I have put 450km on the car since It left my garage. The transmission is now acting up. I am having a hard time getting it into any gear and it likes to drop out of 5th on its own. It also has a loud howl in 2nd and 3rd gear. I have been to a few shops in town here to diagnose the problem. They all tell me the same thing. Looks like my syncros are gone and maybe the mainshaft rear bearing. I was told it is cheaper to just hit a salvage yard for another one. Rebuild is about $1000.00. I have the S52 and the BEAMS came with the S54. I do not know if the extra HP caused the stress on the parts or if it was on its way out before I swapped. I might have to track down a S54. Sucks to be me......

I hate those days when something goes wrong on the car and it seems like it will cost a fortune but in the end all it takes is something cheap and simple. God bless our celicas! (and like you said in the top post, no it doesn't suck to be you. You have the beams motor!  )
