I have a 1994 celica st automatic. as soon as i saw the car i fell in love with it.
So after i bought it the engine is just over all past its due. So i thought about getting rid of it but the i started to do a bunch of resarch and i wanted to get a 3s-gte 3rd generation jdm swaped into it. I know all about the swap, its very indepth with all the wirring issues and motormounts. but i want to know will the 6 grand or so that i put into it be worth it? i mean with complacations later down the road with the swap and stuff.I really like this car and i want to hang on to it i am thinking the 3rd gen 3s-gte is the best way so if you could please give feedback that would be great. oh yeah i do know about the conversion from auto to manual (about a grand) |

Quite a bit. Some differences are the turbo, the 3rd gen is MAP sensored so there's no AFM, which makes tuning it easier in some cases, the 3rd gen has a big water to air intercooler with a heat exhanger, instead of the air to air top mount that the 2nd gen has... the head is also different, I think it flows better.... um, that's all I can think of right now.
