Today I was working at radioshack, just finised my paper work and went on the sales floor to help some of my employees' when an older lady comes in, barely walking thru the door on her own. So I rush over and get the door for her and I ask "How can I help you today" she asks "Do you have this particular battery" and due to the hurricane we had recently we were out of stock of the 12v alarm batteries so I told her "No ma'am, the closest radioshack is about 20 miles from here that has it in stock, but I will be more than happy to get it for you and have it hear by tomarrow" and then she just looks at me with this sad look and says slowly "No thank you, my life has been so bad im ready to just put my arms down and die" after I heard that I just didnt know what to say. Im usually the person who has a slick comment or remark for everything but I was totally speechless. All I could say when she was leaving was "I hope your day gets better." It really sucked hearing that, im still thinking about it almost 8 hours later.

Around Oct of 03' I was told that my grandpa was at the hospital

since I live in the States and hes in the Philippines the only connection we had was the phone..

after a couple of days we started scrambling then I grab my aunt's phone and read the text message.. my grandpa had died..

The only explanation that the whole family had was that he was just waiting to see all of his children again..

The last one that he hasn't seen for some years was my dad.. we went back to the Philippines in AUG of 03'

The only thing I have that my grandpa gave me was a "prayer" that was in latin. He said to read it everytime I was close to trouble
