Losing my Snowboarding Virginity this Friday, any tips? Options

Ok so Im going snowboarding for the 1st time this Friday. Im scared! Im going with Jason and he hasnt been for 2 years so he should be pretty close to where i am. I wanna go on the chairlifts that day so i need some pointers on how to get off! i dont wanna fall (i know it will happen)

And what do i need gear wise?

Im renting board and boots - though I want my own but no use in buying it before i try it!

I already have a Helly Hanson Jacket and a pimp snow hat! ;-)

Im going to buy
Pants
Goggles
Gloves



Anything else?

i've boarded for years and use to teach it you'll deff need a big pillow for your ass cause you'll be falling alot

thats an understatement! ya you will be spending more time on you ass than your feet your first time

you need to get snowboarding lessons and you'll also need oniment for the bruises, and bandaids for cuts etc. and some sorta neck support so you wouldn't break your neck

ya lessons are a good idea. i took lessons my whole first day on the slopes

first time i went, the first thing i remember was trying to stand on the board and was like "holy hell this is slippery!" stick with it though, theres nothing like finally having a run where you dont fall also, stay as slow as you can and focus on staying up for first first 3 or so times you go boarding. i got pretty confident end of my fourth day on my first trip, picked up way too much speed for me to handle at the time, and crashed really hard. which reminds me, wear a helmet! i dont anymore to be honest but i sure was glad i had one on when i had that crash. stick on beginners slopes for now. moguls are hell, avoid them like the plague on a snowboard, i still hate those lol. dangerous, so just be careful and have fun! cant wait till finals are over!
