"rice"?
I bet there are some muscle car racers that consider all Japanese cars to be "rice" no matter what.

Yeah, your right, they do that. But fellow Japanese car owners will call you "rice" if you have neons. They are sort of a cross over point when you say, "Hey look at me, I want to be cool." They are fads. There has been many different fads in car manufacturing over the years. Bottem line, a timeless design is a smooth subtle look were nothing really jumps out at you, the car just looks good.
EDIT: Some will argue that neons are part of this smooth design. They are more than intitled to their opinions.

I bet they would call a Supra "rice" even after it smokes them

There is a turbo Eclipse running around my town here that has a cheap yellow paint job, big vinals on the hood and sides, big scoop on the hood, aluminum wing, stock wheels, bad sounding exhaust, and a fiberglass body kit that looks like he's hit the curb once a week with since he's gotten the car. Even though his car is regertably faster than mine, I feel it is justifide to call him a "ricer."

yea i agree with you on that one In "MY" opinion i think its all about how your car is presented. i think we all know when neons have been setup right or not. I dont think its fair to call all neons rice and say that anyone who has em is a nobody just trying to be cool, but if ya really think about it why do we shell out so much money into bodykits and rims etc.
I vote for neons if done right
I also vote for stoppin all the hatterism out there on neons out there
