I recently changed my spark plugs on my 5sfe and as I pulled the spark plug wire out the little boot on the bottom of the plug wire stayed attached to the spark plug but the rest of the spark plug wire came out. I was wondering if anyone one has had the same problem with the little rubber boot getting stuck. if so howdid u guys manage to get it out short of taking off the head.I tried needle nose pliers and some lube to try and get it unstuck but have been unsuccesfull.Any ideas appreciated.

HEHE!! Been there done that! Stupid crap aftermarket plug wires. Buy OEM next time. What worked awesome for me...dont be afraid to try it...you wont hurt nothing
![]() 1: Pull the rubber sleave out of the spark plug socket 2: Get a torch 3: Heat the spark plug socket up VERY HOT! 4: Push the HOT socket down the tube and press and twist it hard onto the stuck rubber end...you will have to reheat the socket a few times till you melt through the rubber enough to get the socket over the spark plug. Took me maybe 5 minutes to do and it worked perfect! Dont worry too much about alittle rubber getting down in the chamber if it does...it wont hurt anything. -------------------- ![]() |
