Once i parked my celica in a field, it rained really hard and long and mud got all around the tires. I could start the celi but it wouldnt shift into drive. Yesterday, i parked my car on snow and i could shut the car off and put it into drive but i couldnt get the key out of the ignition. Anyone, know what the hell is going on? I was thinking it was because i wasnt on a stable surface.

Is it because of a safety lock?
Thats why you couldn't get it into drive. I know in my parent's car there is a safety feature preventing children putting the car into gear.
