I got the button to work but only when the key is in the ignition and turned to the ON position. Is there a way to wire it so that I don't the key at all? Also, how do I shut the engine off without using the key?

im getting my push button wired up so that when u wanna start the car, u still gotta turn the key fully over like if it wasnt even there. U gotta turn it over, and push the button at the same time. You can even wire it up to do that and have to hit a toggel switch. My friend truck has it wired up so that you have to turn the battery on(battery kill switch), then a switch, then turn the key and hit the button.

I'm guessing a security feature. Most people wouldn't think to press the button and turn the key at the same time. It wouldn't be very secure though...our cars should be equipped with fuel-pump/starter/clutch-switch/ecu-power/whatever-else kills in order to make them hard to steal. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
