I got the button to work but only when the key is in the ignition and turned to the ON position. Is there a way to wire it so that I don't the key at all? Also, how do I shut the engine off without using the key?

kindasad.gif little off topic...but won't a thief/thieves be able to push start your car if it's a manual??? (even though it has a starter kill alarm while holding on to the start button...) kindasad.gif

With the push button hooked up the way I did it, it's still hard to steal the car. You have to flip a switch to turn the ignition on, then depress the clutch and push the button. If the alarm is armed, and the switch is flipped, it trips the alarm and the siren goes off and the starter is disabled. Even after the siren stops (automatically after a few minutes) The alarm is still in the ARMED state thereby disabling the starter. The only way to steal it would be to get into the car (almost impossible without triggering the alarm) and FIND the actual alarm brain and the wire that disables the starter, and remove it from the equation. Then they could flip the switch and start it up. But if they are able to get that far, having the key instead of the button wouldnt matter much anyways. So there you go. I just told you how to steal my car. GOOD LUCK!! And if you're skilled enough to break in and steal it, just hope you're skilled enough to dodge a few .45 caliber bullets in the process tongue.gif

BTW
If someone wants your car bad enough, they will take it. No matter what kind of security you have. They can always just car jack you, LOL.

our cars should be equipped with fuel-pump/starter/clutch-switch/ecu-power/whatever-else kills in order to make them hard to steal.

LOL!! I'm gonna invent that kill switch. I shall call it the "Commer Kill Switch" (patent pending) tongue.gif
