i hear that starting your car is the equivalent of letting your car idle for about 3 minutes or so, and by equivalent i mean the amount of gas being used. Has anyone else heard of this? Or if it is true?

QUOTE(Terzin1 @ Dec 18, 2005 - 7:59 PM) i hear that starting your car is the equivalent of letting your car idle for about 3 minutes or so, and by equivalent i mean the amount of gas being used. Has anyone else heard of this? Or if it is true? thats not true. i forgot what it was on tv but they did some tests and it's actually better on gas to turn off your car when your at a red light than to let it idle. i doubt anybody does this, but still. i mean, i doubt it makes a difference at all. i just drive and not think about things like that because it's not worth it and it'll probably give me a headache.-------------------- ![]() |
