i hear that starting your car is the equivalent of letting your car idle for about 3 minutes or so, and by equivalent i mean the amount of gas being used. Has anyone else heard of this? Or if it is true?

on a cold start you fuel usage is like the same as 5 min's idel on a warm engin..... if the motors warm then it's not worth thinking about.... but wear and tear on the starter will increase....
as for petrol i'm paying @ 60 cents a liter for 98....... in gallons.... sorry thick this morning ![]() -------------------- ![]() Life is for living, and you don't get a second chance Take care now !! |

i let my car warm up 5 minutes before moving, and 3-5 minutes before stop engine to warm down turbo bearings. so a turbo car owner pays twice
