i hear that starting your car is the equivalent of letting your car idle for about 3 minutes or so, and by equivalent i mean the amount of gas being used. Has anyone else heard of this? Or if it is true?

Starting the car is like priming the engine first. U will use only a small amount of it to make the car start up. Too much kills it. Idle the car is like feeding it to run after priming it. so I guesss idling the car uses more gas cause all 4 cylinders are being used at once. When you prime u use only 1 or 2 cylinders to start it going.
