Hey guys I was wondering what type and socket size do I need to remove the valve cover because I will be painting it this weekend. will I need a new gasket when I put it back on

Yeah, its pretty easy, like what has been said. If possible, try sandblasting it before you paint, so you can get all the crap that is caked on. My friend took his Honda to our high school shop and I sandblasted it for him and it came out great, just make sure you rinse out the inside before putting it on. Sand+inside of engine= no no.
