so i got a nice psp for xmas! woot!

im trying to set it up with my wirless network. from what i remember the psps uses 802.11B, so i made sure that my G router is set to mixed mode (B and G). then i have WEP encription so i selected that, typed in my looong access code and my SID, and .... Nothing. the the psp says to check the security settings and try again.

i even turned off all security on my router to see if that would work, but it still wont. so now im stuck trying to figure out how to get it to work.

the psp, can see my network SID when i enable brodcasting of that, so i know the wireless is working. any tips?

im using chanel 11 on my router, could that have anything to do with it? does 802.11B work with that chanel ?

I thought there was a hack to downgrade to 1.5... EDIT: Sorry that was 2.0... I don't think 2.01 has been figured out yet.

Is your router set up to filter MAC addresses? If so, you will need to enter the PSP MAC address into the filter table of your router.

The only other things I can come up with are:
Maybe the SSID you used for the PSP isn't exactly the same as all of the other devices on your network or,
you entered your WEP pass-phrase instead of your WEP key.
You need to change the channel setting on your PSP or Router... try seting your router to channel 6 first then try all the others or turn the PSP from Automatic to manual and select chanel 11.

i made sure to turn off mac address filtering..

i entered the LONG ass WEP key, not the paraphrase that is used to generate it

how do i change the chanel on the psp, i didnt see anything about chanel selection, and most of the time its something that wireless devices detect automatically. i tried chan 6 and it didnt work, but ill try it and all of the one more time.
