so i got a nice psp for xmas! woot!
im trying to set it up with my wirless network. from what i remember the psps uses 802.11B, so i made sure that my G router is set to mixed mode (B and G). then i have WEP encription so i selected that, typed in my looong access code and my SID, and .... Nothing. the the psp says to check the security settings and try again. i even turned off all security on my router to see if that would work, but it still wont. so now im stuck trying to figure out how to get it to work. the psp, can see my network SID when i enable brodcasting of that, so i know the wireless is working. any tips? im using chanel 11 on my router, could that have anything to do with it? does 802.11B work with that chanel ? -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

QUOTE(azian_advanced @ Dec 25, 2005 - 3:31 PM) ^ what he said.... i use the same router as you. although i don't use any security codes. just that i have 'default' as my SSID and that's it. usually, the factory default settings should work and that all you'd have to set up is your security settings and SSID. and under the Advanced Routing tab you have your router's operating mode to Gateway and not Router. also be sure that under the Setup -> Basic Setup Tab that you have DHCP enabled. in the Administration tab -> Management, that you have Wireless Access Web enabled. and last but not least, save your settings, go to the status tab and release and renew your router. mine worked without changing anything on my router. as far as i know, the PSP scans through every channel. i have mine set at channel 6. be sure that on your PSP, that you're using 'Infrastructure' and not Ad Hoc Mode you should really setup your router for WEP security. the way u have it right now, anyone that lives around you can jump on your network and steal your internet for free. i made sure everything u said is done. i used my wireless with my laptop, so i know the network is running and transmiting. i think its more of a matter of getting the psp to be setup with the right settings...but so far im stumped...ill keep trying to see if i missed anything, and ill even restore the router to all defults and disable all security, just to see if i can get it to work . -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
