Is there a way to remove the cover of the climate control panel without removing the cables. I just want to remove the face plate of it so that I could replace the bulbs. I know you can remove the front plate just by itself.

If you want your numbers to be amber and needles to be red you can change the bulbs like you've done and paint the needles. Tamiya and Testors both make translucent red paint. You can get it in just about any hobby store. I have reverse indiglo guages and painted my needles red with the Tamiya. I brushed on two coats which is a little too thick. Next time I take them apart I'm going to clean them off and airbrush on a thinner coat.
