got a ticket last night, didnt signal Options

so it was around 12 last night, and i was on my way to a friends house following a friend. we were on a street where there was NO ONE except for me, my friend, and i guess the cop. well at the turn that we were supposed to make he goes straight, so im thinking that he just missed the turn. i get into the turn lane, and the turn light is red. i see the cop behind me and get nervous. i try my best to not do anything wrong when i made the u-turn. but as soon as im done turning i get pulled over. having no idea wut i did wrong, i just tried to be polite. the cop says i didnt signal, but i swore i did. now im not even exactly sure because i was so nervous the entire time the cop was behind me. i have a bodykit, and an exhaust, (which were probably the things he noticed) and im pretty sure that he was already trying to get me for something. i didnt see the cop until i got into the turn lane, and i guess my friend saw the cop and went straight to turn into some complex to park. well the cop gets out and hes a total jerk. flashes his flashlight me in the car at me and my friend, and then directly in my eyes and then not asks, but demands license and registration. he then asks what im doing out this late and i tell him the truth. he obviously doesnt believe me and then goes back in his car to write me up. i mean its a turn signal violation, when i was in the turn lane and no one was even around. if anything i thought he would have warned me, but he went and wrote the ticket and everything. this sucks..im only 17 so i gotta go to traffic school to keep this off my record. so what do you guys think. should i even bother showing up to court?

Most cops dont even care about the body kits/exhaust/etc unless its ridiculous. I had a muffler and 3" straight pipe, and the cop didnt care at the police station.

I rode along with him one day, and we pulled over more minivans and kias than cars. Only car we pulled over was a newer acura that was doing 20 over the speed limit.

And you should always signal. Why were you so nervous? Do you usually not stop at stop signs completely, signal, etc? Because thats what causes accidents...

Does your friend rememeber you signalling?
