i must be dumb cause i cant get the damn driverside axle out of the tranny , its a 5 speed , got the other one out but for some reason the othr side wont budge

I had the same problem while doing my axles, except I had trouble with the passenger side. The driver side popped right out. For the other, I tied a strong rope to the axle behind the big piece of metal just outside the differential. It took me and 2 other guys to jerk it out. This was done after prying, pulling, crying, kicking, and cursing.
Use EXTREME care when changing seals. It's tricky finding a spot to pry them out easily. I found it much easier to take a flathead and a hammer and make a little dent in it, and then prying around that dent. This post has been edited by Delta_Phoenix: Jan 12, 2006 - 8:52 PM |
